Courtney Bourque holding Daisy AwardCourtney Bourque, BSN, RN, of the Neurosciences Intermediate Care Unit on Braunwald Tower 10CD, received the May DAISY Award in recognition of the compassionate care she provided to a patient and family. The award was presented via a Zoom call on May 5, with Senior Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer Maddy Pearson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, reading the nomination from the patient’s loved ones.

“All the staff has been wonderful, but Courtney is something special! An MVP and a utility player,” according to the nomination. “She was always willing to talk with us and answer questions.”

The patient’s family praised the excellent care Bourque provided, how she took the time to get to know the patient and always made the patient feel valued and heard. She took the patient on walks and “field trips” for a change of scenery.  “She does all this with unfailing grace, patience and a smile,” according to the patient’s family.
