The call to nursing:

“Being a nurse is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl. I remember having my first difficult experience as a patient in the hospital years ago, and the unconditional support and care I received. I thought to my 12-year-old self: I want to be in their shoes one day and do for someone else as they did for me.”

Facing a pandemic:

“Ten years later, here I am. Never in a million years would I have pictured myself within the first year of my experience out in the field to be dealing with a pandemic.Nursing is never predictable, that’s for sure.”

Going above and beyond:

“Our job as health care workers is to go above and beyond the call of duty. Our job is to lift the fallen, restore the broken, and heal the hurting. Here’s to everyone who is on the frontline and taking care of patients day in and day out. And to those who are not health care workers who may not receive credit, please know that we appreciate your selflessness and dedication through these scary times.”
