Headshots of Essence honoreesThe Kurlat Essence of Nursing Award is the highest honor presented annually to a Brigham and Women’s Hospital clinical nurse. Nurses are nominated by their peers, leaders or patients in recognition of the expert, relationship-based care they provide. Each year, one recipient and four honorees are selected.

This year’s recipient is Andrew Dundin, MSN, RN, CEN, of the Emergency Department.

The honorees are:

The award is supported in perpetuity through the generosity of Mr. Saul Kurlat in acknowledgment of the exceptional care that his late wife received from Brigham nurses.
