Carol Walls Cruz, BSN, RN, Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit

“Carol took the time to make a connection with us, chatting with us, and allowing us to reminisce and tell her about my mom, as a person and not just a patient with a terminal illness…. When it was time to make the heart-wrenching decision to transition to care and comfort measures only, Carol was there. She may not have said much as my father and I sat there and cried, but her presence was felt, and she gave us both a hug as we came to terms with what was to come…. The care and attention she gave my mom is second to none…. She went above and beyond in every way imaginable not only to care for my mom, but also to care for her family during an extremely painful and difficult time.”

Jennifer Harrison Driscoll, BSN, RN

Jennifer Harrison Driscoll, BSN, RN, Medical Intensive Care Unit

“Jenny cared for the family and the patient with deep empathy…. Anytime she would adjust the patient, she would make sure to tell him he was safe and explained what she was doing. She would touch him with such care…. Jenny gave the family the options they wanted and needed to end treatment but always with the kindest, most loving words to ensure everyone’s comfort. When the patient passed away, Jenny helped the family find a hotel near the hospital…. The family felt so held and loved by her care.”
