Brigham Way: Honoring Those Who Go Above and Beyond

A group of faculty and staff were honored during a recent luncheon with Brigham Health President Betsy Nabel, MD, for exemplifying the Brigham Way.
The event, held quarterly, celebrates the many ways in which members of the Brigham community go above and beyond to make the hospital a better place for all who come through our doors.
During the celebration, Nabel recognized honorees from departments throughout the hospital and thanked them for contributing to our shared Brigham Experience by caring for our patients and each other.
Among the honorees were Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) staff Marjorie Rogers, BSN, RN, CCRN, Karen Meyers, RN, and Maria “Paula” Brito, unit associate. They were nominated for their thoughtful, attentive care of a patient faced with homelessness. The trio brought the patient clothing from their homes and a warm pair of shoes.
“It really touches my heart hearing about all the ways that you go above and beyond to make the Brigham a truly special place,” Nabel told honorees.
If you see an individual or team going above and beyond their responsibilities to help a patient, visitor or colleague, nominate them for the campaign by emailing TheBrighamWay@partners.org.
