DAISY Award Honoree Heather Mortimer, RN, of Tower 14C, General Medicine

BWH’s fourth DAISY Award honoree is Heather Mortimer, RN, of Tower 14C, General Medicine. Heather was nominated by a former, grateful patient who extolled her thoughtfulness, dedication and compassion. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is an international recognition program established in 1999 by the Barnes family to thank the nurses who had provided such compassionate care for their son, Patrick, before he passed away due to complications from an autoimmune disease. 2018 New England Regional Black Nurses’ Association Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award winner Chantale Scutt, MSN, RN (third from right), clinical nurse, Thoracic Surgical ICU

Chantale Scutt, MSN, RN, clinical nurse in the Thoracic Surgical ICU, is the recipient of the 2018 New England Regional Black Nurses Association’s (NERBNA) Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award. Chantale received her award at the NERBNA ceremony on Feb. 9. A colleague of Chantale’s noted: “… Chantale has exemplified the qualities of a great nurse leader as she inspired me to be at least half of who she is as a nurse and as a person.”
