One Patient, One Record, One Team

On April 2, 2016, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Newton-Wellesley Hospital (NWH) and Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) will go live on the Partners eCare (PeC) inpatient modules.

This event will bring us one step closer to the vision of a Partners HealthCare enterprise-wide health information system for our clinicians, patients and families. Patients who receive care in any of these PeC sites will have their clinical information in One Record for all care providers to view. This represents a tremendous opportunity for us to improve quality and safety for our patients.

With the inclusion of additional PeC live sites, all care providers using PeC can expect to see a number of improvements to the current system. With a fresh set of eyes from the many clinical users from MGH, NWH and MEEI, attention will be drawn to complex workflows that we have adjusted to in our daily practice. This should result in improvements and may also result in many changes during the month of April. We will all need to be alert to changes that may affect us directly and be prepared to put in a ticket when things don’t seem to be working as they should.

We are well on our way to an enterprise-wide, integrated health information system, and the role we all play in this transformation is evidence of our ongoing commitment to improve the care of our patients and families every day.
