For the entire month of March, the Department of Nutrition at Brigham and Women’s Hospital will celebrate National Nutrition Month with a wonderful mix of activities aimed at promoting a healthier BWH community.
BWH employees will have opportunities to add to their nutrition knowledge, engage in physical fitness competitions with colleagues, learn about the latest research conducted at BWH and have a chance to win prizes every week.
The month’s activities, coordinated by the BWH dietetic interns, are divided into weekly themes, including Nutrition Research Awareness, Cooking and Fitness, which are designed to encourage employees to experience the benefits of developing sound eating and physical activity habits in a fun, educational and social environment.
Visit their table in the cafeteria for the first two weeks of March, or participate in the following activities.
Week 1 (February 29 – March 4):
BWH Nutrition Research Awareness
and Nutrition Trivia Contest
Test your nutrition knowledge and learn more about the innovative research being conducted at BWH, exploring the most pressing nutritional issues and aiming to improve the way we approach nutrition in
Week 2 (March 7 – March 11):
We invite BWH employees to release their inner chef and showcase their culinary talents, utilizing the freshest local ingredients to create the most delicious, balanced and nutritious recipes and share them with the BWH community. Email BWHNutrition@partners.org.
Week 3 (March 14 – 18):
Whether you’re using a Fitbit or the latest fitness phone app, everyone seems to be tracking their steps these days. Think you’ve got the most moves? Here’s your chance to win! BWH will reward the employee who tracks the most steps with a fitness-related prize. Enter by emailing BWHNutrition@partners.org.
