-Eileen O’Connell, MS, RN, nurse director, Tower 11 ABD

“Nancy hired me in 2003 to work in the Dialysis Unit as their administrative secretary. She always encouraged me and gave good advice. Nancy was kind, supportive and caring.”

-Gail Appling, administrative secretary, Dialysis Unit

“Nancy gave kindness, compassion and interest in every life she touched in the BWH community and paid it forward in her actions and counsel.”

-Donna Ward, RN, program coordinator, Operating Rooms

“Nancy had a remarkable capacity for connecting with people, particularly those in need. Whether it was a patient awaiting test results in the Emergency Department or a colleague dealing with a family concern, Nancy’s focus was never more acute than when she sensed a person burdened.”

-Jackie Somerville, PhD, RN, chief nursing officer and senior vice president of Patient Care Services

“Nancy’s door was always open. There were many times that one-on-one discussions were opened as colleagues showed up at her door. Nancy was proud of her staff and her role at BWH.”
