New On-Site Master’s Nursing Program

We are proud to announce a new on-site master’s degree program, Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), in partnership with Regis College. The CNL role is recognized nationally as a nurse who desires to apply advanced nursing concepts attained at a master’s level at the bedside. CNLs serve to advance patient outcomes through risk assessment and quality improvement initiatives, as well as by interprofessional initiatives that will promote exceptional patient care.

This CNL program is designed to meet the needs of BWH clinical nurses’ schedules. Half of the courses will be offered on-site at BWH, and the other half will be a mix of fully online and hybrid courses, with some on the Regis campus. BWH nurses will receive a 20 percent tuition discount on all courses in this master’s program and are eligible for our direct reimbursement program with Regis College. This supports advancing your education with no out of pocket expenses (up to your annual tuition reimbursement limit). In addition, those who enroll in the first course, Concepts of Leadership, this October, will receive all required text books for the course at no charge.

Course topics include health assessment, advanced pharmacology and pathophysiology, ethics, quality management, evidence-based practice and research, leadership, informatics and health policy as well as coordinated clinical experiences at BWH.

Meet with representatives from Regis College to learn more about the program, Wednesday, Aug. 16 from 7 a.m.-4 p.m., on the Tower 2 Mezzanine, outside Shop on the Pike.

Is this program specific for nurses at the bedside? I work in the Crohn’s and Colitis outpatient clinic but, am interested in this program.

Thanks, Theresa, for your excellent question! Clinical Nurse Leaders serve to advance patient outcomes through risk assessment, quality improvement initiatives and by implementing interprofessional initiatives that promote exceptional patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. We hope that nurses from many different BWH practice settings will enroll in order to enrich the learning experience while impacting nursing practice across our organization.
